Wow, Brent, thank you for this generosity! I sincerely appreciate it and
I'm sure the rest of the team does as well. I noticed Markus also offered
to contribute to this as well (we really shouldn't be talking about more
than $30 per year for all three domains, so we're not dealing with huge
numbers anyway :)). My thanks are extended to Markus for his generosity as
well. It's amazing to see such support and interest in the project so many
years after its original public launch (way back in 1998/1999, right?) and
it really made me smile this morning to read these messages from you both.

Once we sort out when the domains actually expire (i.e. the date I can
actually register them to myself again) I'll contact you both to let you
know what I will actually be spending on the domain registrations, and we
can sort out contribution details off-list as you requested. From what I've
read, eNom has a 30-day "auto renew period" during which they apparently
hold the domain(s) hostage if someone else places a bid on them. Bids
*start* at the "bargain" price of $65 per domain, so this is clearly a "get
rich quick" scheme on eNom's part.

Presumably after nobody bids on the bloody things (at least not at those
prices) and 30 days pass after the domains' official expiration dates,
they'll be freed up again so I can snag them. I'll keep an eye out daily
for this change to happen. My expectation is they'll free up either June 8
or June 23, depending on whether they're going by the "expiration date"
field or the "last updated on" field.

I suppose we should solicit suggestions for new/alternate domain names in
case some jackass actually *does* decide to "troll" the project by bidding
on the domains (the highest bidder automatically wins the domain, and at
least the bid price includes a year's registration). I don't expect that to
happen, but it's always possible. Maybe it's worth $195 to someone to get a
laugh at our expense.

Anyway, thanks again guys for the generosity!
