Hi, I'm SURE this has been asked.... I have a CrystalFontz CFA-631, and would like to be able to do something like : echo "Hello World" > /dev/<device-name> ......which I suspect isn't possible (PLEASE tell me I'm wrong). I've looked at doing something like : echo "Hello World" > /tmp/<filename> ....and running the example program tail.pl : tail.pl /tmp/<filename> ....but that comes up with scrolling, and switching screens, etc. I just want some static text, on the 2 x 20 display; just like I get, when I start / stop the LCDd daemon Please advise Regards Justin _______________________________________________ LCDproc mailing list [email protected] http://lists.omnipotent.net/mailman/listinfo/lcdproc
