But aren't you looking at Vista log files from a XP/2k3? Vista is Windows 6 .. yes? You can't look at a Vista event log on an XP. You can't look at a 2k3 from a Vista event viewer. "This way Event Viewer of Windows 5.x looks after connecting to a Vista machine:" Like..... you can't. Vista event viewer needs to look at a Vista/Longhorn box. Service pack has nothing to do with this issue.. that's not a Vista Event log window that you are using to look at Vista log files. I can't take a vista box and look at my XP/2k3 fleet, nor can I take my XP/2k3 and look at vista. When I'm up on the vista box looking at 2k3 it can't read all the syntax. Am I missing something here? Or not understanding? Pardon if I am. I can't look at my Vista group policy settings on my 2k3 box, I have to manage Vista group policies from a Vista workstation as well.
