i contemplated doing some AI like log analysis a few years back
as part of a startup project that never got off the ground.

some of the sorts of things i was thinking about doing might
have been better served by prolog, actually.

lisp can be very good for this sort of stuff, but academic
lisp programmers often aren't very good at efficient lisp
(yes, lisp can be efficient, but the programmer has to want
to write it efficiently, and the language is frequently not
well taught.)
