Well, one has to fall from a really tall tree (not yet turned into
logs :-)) to chose an XML config file for syslog. I'd also side with
David on the ng: if you follow the syslog-ng config format you'd wipe
one more possible advantage or differentiation. And, yes, it is
sometimes ambigous.
I'd start from (gasp!) regular syslog.conf and grow from there
(without curly brackets, <xml> and other funky stuff)
