I know now about problem noflushd and ext3. Does it the same problem for noflushd and ext4? I can't find any information about it. Why there is no warning in description of the program in package manager? Why there is no warning when daemon started and found ext3? Who will bought new hard drive for me? $ sudo smartctl -a /dev/sda | grep Load_Cycle_Count 193 Load_Cycle_Count 0x0032 001 001 000 Old_age Always - 992681 $ sudo smartctl -a /dev/sda | grep WD Device Model: WDC WD10EARS-00Y5B1 Serial Number: WD-WCAV******** $ sudo smartctl -a /dev/sda | grep West Model Family: Western Digital Caviar Green (Adv. Format) $ sudo smartctl -a /dev/sda | grep Cap User Capacity: 1 000 204 886 016 bytes [1,00 TB] $ sudo smartctl -a /dev/sda | grep Sector Sector Size: 512 bytes logical/physical 5 Reallocated_Sector_Ct 0x0033 200 200 140 Pre-fail Always - 0 197 Current_Pending_Sector 0x0032 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 0 By the way: limit for healthy disk is 600000 Load_Cycle_Count. noflushd was auto installed by unknown reason (or maybe was preinstalled in Ubuntu), and I did not know about it. I just a lucky guy who googling a full day, and now I disabled all disk parameters and programs which can increase Load_Cycle_Count. Last was noflushd, after COMPLETE REMOVING of which tick suicide disk bomb was stopped. EVEN EVERY 4 MINUTES WRITING TO HARD DRIVE WITH SYNC COMMAND AFTER (ALL BY CRONTAB) CAN NOT STOP TICK BOMB WHICH WAS ACTIVATED BY EXISTENS OF NOFLUSFD IN LINUX SYSTEM. These does not help too of course: 1) $ sudo idle3ctl -s 148 /dev/sda Idle3 timer set to 148 (0x94) Please power cycle your drive off and on for the new setting to be taken into account. A reboot will not be enough! -> I powered off and even reset enegry with pushing power button when energy cable of computer is disconnected. $ sudo idle3ctl -g103 /dev/sda Idle3 timer set to 600.0s (0x94) $ sudo idle3ctl -g105 /dev/sda Idle3 timer set to 600.0s (0x94) I then set writed to disk to file with sync every 240 seconds. 2) $ sudo idle3ctl -d /dev/sda Idle3 timer disabled Please power cycle your drive off and on for the new setting to be taken into account. A reboot will not be enough! -> I powered off and even reset enegry with pushing power button when energy cable of computer is disconnected. Somebody writes that simple disabling of Idle3 timer does not works. 3) $ sudo hdparm -S0 /dev/sda /dev/sda: setting standby to 0 (off) 4) =C9=CC=C9 =D4=C1=CB $ sudo hdparm -S251 /dev/sda /dev/sda: setting standby to 251 (5 hours + 30 minutes) 5) =C9=CC=C9 =D4=C1=CB $ sudo hdparm -S253 /dev/sda /dev/sda: setting standby to 253 (vendor-specific) 7) =C9=CC=C9 =D4=C1=CB $ sudo hdparm -S244 /dev/sda /dev/sda: setting standby to 244 (2 hours) 8)=C9=CC=C9 =D4=C1=CB $ sudo hdparm -S241 /dev/sda /dev/sda: setting standby to 241 (30 minutes) 9) $ sudo hdparm -S255 /dev/sda /dev/sda: setting standby to 255 (21 minutes + 15 seconds) 10) $ sudo hdparm -S254 /dev/sda /dev/sda: setting standby to 254 (?reserved) HDIO_DRIVE_CMD(setidle) failed: Input/output error 11) $ sudo hdparm -S252 /dev/sda /dev/sda: setting standby to 252 (21 minutes) 12) $ sudo hdparm -B 254 /dev/sda /dev/sda: setting Advanced Power Management level to 0xfe (254) HDIO_DRIVE_CMD failed: Input/output error APM_level =3D not supported 13) $ sudo hdparm -B 255 /dev/sda /dev/sda: setting Advanced Power Management level to disabled HDIO_DRIVE_CMD failed: Input/output error APM_level =3D not supported Some related information: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Problem_with_hard_drive_clicking laptop-mode-tools does not have any problem with etx3, and it is better. but I don't need such programs. I just want to get my healthy drive back. I have not accepted any license in which was written that noflushd can damage my hard disk. I have not accepted no license about noflushd at all, but it was installed in my system and worked like a virus (actually it is real virus). And now I want new 1TB hard drive from you, guys. I prefer Hitachi hard drives now. I am poor guy from Russia, from Saint-Petersburg. --0016e6db2399fa46ff04ce470f53 Content-Type: text/html; charset=KOI8-R Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hello!
I know now about problem noflushd and ext3.
Does it the same p= roblem for noflushd and ext4?
