Nathan, Commit aaabe592 changed from using distutils to setuptools in src/python/setup.py. This has broken the build all over my QA landscape. The Python setuptools module is not installed on lots of my machines (many are not on the internet so I can't upgrade them till March), and I'm not even sure the package is available for some platforms, and there is no corresponding change in qa/admin/check-vm to provide a hint of this new build dependency. Can we consider changing this to be a configure-driven option to only use setuptools if that module is installed? I know I've mentioned it before, but I'll repeat that Python would appear to be the most ill-conceived development ecosystem on the face of the planet! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- pcp mailing list [email protected] https://groups.io/g/pcp/messages -=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
