Oh, sorry, that was all too vague. And it was the more detailed usage
message (parfait --help) that I was thinking of too:
-i/--interval N
Use numeric interval as the delta upon which JMX values will
be reevaluated for exporting as memory mapped values (1 sec,
by default). Overrides the ${parfait.interval} Java system
property. Specified in milliseconds.
So, in your specific example, we'd be sampling via PCP tools at regular
much-longer frequencies (e.g. once a minute) and can increase that (up to
the once a second you mentioned) for that finer-grained accuracy you were
after, with no changes to parfait[-agent] at all.

But, yes, I'd love to see real Parfait use on JBoss/WildFly, no question.

The plans are as we discussed earlier in terms of features you and I have
talked about - I still completely agree those are things we need to see,
to flesh out the available functionality here.
There's no firm dates for those, noone is signed up to implement them as
yet and resources here are scarce for this - I'm working on other things
in the short-medium term. If noone else is available, longer term I'll
circle back to it.
Oh, that said, we will do some of the smaller items in the short-term -
like an example of injecting parfait-agent metrics from outside, docs and
more packaging work - but bigger things will need assistance from others,
or a longer wait.
cheers.
