Google Summer of Code 2017

Hi all,

Within the next couple of weeks we'll be proposing projects
that the PCP project can mentor for this years Google Summer
of Code.  We've had good success and learned alot with our
initial involvement last year, so now we're hoping to build
on those early achievements.

If you would like to mentor a student this year, please begin
giving it some thought and send any student project ideas you
have through to Lukas and myself.  For reference, last years
list of project ideas is here:

Next week we'll begin collating ideas and producing this years
project list, then within the following two weeks we'll submit
the proposals to Google.

This is a wonderful opportunity and I encourage you to become
involved - there are so many possible areas within PCP, Vector,
Parfait, Speed, and other related projects.  Last year we were
successful in mentoring two students, and were able to send two
of our mentors from Canada and Australia to attend a conference
Google hosted in the USA afterward.  So, while it is hard work,
its also very rewarding and makes a big impact on the lives of
the students too!
