[pcp:master] New Issue Created by wcohen ( https://github.com/wcohen ) :
#280 RFE better values for software network intefaces for network.interfac=
e.baudrate and network.interface.speed ( https://github.com/performancecopi=
lot/pcp/issues/280 )

There are some network interfaces virbr0-nic and vnet0 on my machine that =
are software interfaces rather than tied to actual hardware. The network.in=
terface.speed and network.inteface.baudrate shows questionable value of abo=
ut 1MB/s for these software interfaces as seen below. These odd values make=
 it harder to determine whether an interface has high utilization directly =
from the metrics. Would like the values to be like the docker0/virbr0 value=
s if there isn't an actual hardware interface speed.

$ pmval network.interface.speed

metric: network.interface.speed host: santana semantics: discrete instanta=
neous value units: Mbyte / sec samples: all

wlp3s0 lo virbr0 - nic virbr0 vnet0 em1 docker0 ? ? 1.192 ? 1.192 119.2 ?

^C $ pmval network.interface.baudrate

metric: network.interface.baudrate host: santana semantics: discrete insta=
ntaneous value units: byte / sec samples: all

wlp3s0 lo virbr0 - nic virbr0 vnet0 em1 docker0 ? ? 1250000 ? 1250000 1250=
00000 ? ? ? 1250000 ? 1250000 125000000 ?
