Were you guys aware that the functionality of the AIX premium Agent is being merged into the UX agent? Heard this at a user group this year. Some of the functionality was merged as of ITM 6.2.3 FP1 and I believe they indicated that the plan is to merge the all of the functionality in 2013. The premium agent will still work; but will gradually be deprecaited and new functionality will be added in the UX. Sounds like that is the plan for the UL (ITM log Agent replaces) and the UM (Agent Builder) - don't recall the timeframes on those, however. On AIX 6.1, it appears to work as expected. Loren Cain On Fri, Oct 28, 2011 at 3:38 PM, Manish A. Subject: Re: [TME10] [TME 10] AIX Premium Agent - Non-root Install I have been running the 6.2.2 px agents as a non-root user for about a year and a half with no apparent problems. I think I recall reading somewhere, in a README file or technote maybe, that the root requirement was no longer necessary. Loren CainOn Fri, Oct 28, 2011 at 2:15 PM, Manish A. Is it even possible? I don’t always believe everything ‘BigBlue’ says J Thanks in advance for feedback Thank you, V/r, Manish A.
