Monitoring standby status oracle DB using oracle extended agent

Folks, In a customer environment there are two Oracle databases. One is Primary which is active and the other is in standby mode. Have installed agent on standby database but on portal when try to retrieve any information agent is getting into offline mode. How do i monitor correct status of the secondary Database where DB is standby? Any idea?
