Ah, for that it might be best to open a new Microsoft Certificate snap-in
applet (Start --> Run --> 'mmc' --> (in resulting UI) File --> Add/Remove
Snap-in... --> Add --> Certificates --> choose Computer Account --> choose
Local Computer --> then use the Certificates console) and open the *.cer
file from there, exporting it to *pxf format. Or actually, just download
and use openssl. It can convert certificates of all major/minor (sub)
formats to one another very well AND handles the leaf/intermediate/root
chaining we well as you could expect--in the case that you're dealing with
a chain of certificates from personal --> interm --> root (CA).
