For the TEMS updating the .config file is fine for temporary changes, but
long term very bad since it will be over-written by a TEMS
reconfiguration.

After ITM 623 create a file with same attributes/owner/group

xx.environment

and place any permanent overrides in that file. That is guaranteed to be
preserved through future changes.

The only one I could not change that way was KBB_RAS1_LOG. That has to be
in xx.ini and [for TEMS] a ./itmcmd config operation.

At ITM 6.2.3 FP1, you can reconfigure all those components via the "itmcmd
config -A <productCode>" CLI. The sy / hd / pa configuration will allow
you to specify the JAR file path(s). One thing I remember is that if you
need to specify more than one JAR file, it uses comma-separated entries
for sy and hd, but colon-separated entries for pa. Oracle probably only
needs one JAR file to be specified so you'll be ok, but anyone else doing
this will need to remember for a different Warehouse RDBMS like DB2 which
uses two JARs.

Also when editing config files, you usually don't want to edit the
*.config file because it's the file that gets re-written each time the
Agent starts (the exception would a TEMS). If you ever need to edit
anything in the config manually without using the CLI / MTEMS, then make a
backup copy of the <productCode>.ini file first, and then edit the
<productCode>.ini file. The <productCode>.ini file gets merged with
settings in the <InstallDirectory>/config/.ConfigData/<productCode>env
file to generate the new <productCode>.config file each time it starts.

ITM 6.2.3 fp1 on AIX.

I need to upgrade my Oracle warehouse DB, and the path to the JDBC drivers
will change. I?ll need to reconfigure TEPS, KSY, KHD, and PA but I don?t
have access to a GUI (yet) to run MTEMS for TEPS and PA. Couldn?t I just
edit cq.config and pa.config, update Kxx_WAREHOUSE_JARS manually, and run
the itmcmd config command for each instead?
