TME10 [ITM] Monitoring for number of connections on IBM HTTP server

ITM 6.2.3 and ITCAM HTTP agent 7.1 on AIX

We have started experimenting with this agent to monitor some IBM HTTP servers.  One problem we've had is that sometimes a webserver stops servicing requests because it has reached the max number of connections and so it hangs.  I'm trying to figure out how to detect this situation; there doesn't appear to be anything in the HTTP agent to measure the number of connections, and while I can see TCP connection rates in the AIX Premium (PX) agent I don't see an absolute number of connections active.

I suppose I could monitor a log file for errors, or watch for failed requests in the HTTP agent, but that's not exactly what I need.  Has anyone done something similar before?
