RFC: Migration of the master revision control repository to git

Hello all,

The HylaFAX CVS repository is cloned to git as can be seen at
http://git.hylafax.org/. Aidan and I have been using git to easily
share our work in progress development for a while now as can be seen
at the same address.

We would like to make the git repository the master repository to
which HylaFAX developers would push their changes and have a read-only
CVS mirror for those who prefer or can only use CVS. On this mirror,
the various git heads (branches) would appear as different modules
instead of branches, beside this and different file version IDs, the
CVS repository would looks like the current CVS repository to the end
user.

We would like to get feedback from all active commiters regarding this
migration. Are you all in favor of this migration and if not, what
would be the reason? (So that we can find a solution and still migrate
to git. ;))

We also welcome feedback from non-committers.

Thanks,
