Yes, you can talk to the HylaFAX server directly yourself through the
network.  It's a very simple protocol based on FTP.

If you're looking for examples of how to use it, a good place to start
would be using the -v option to the included HylaFAX clients (like
sendfax, faxstat, faxwatch, etc) and copying them.
