I tried to compile on a slackware machine using the distributed gcc-4.1 and had
no problem, so this must be related to gcc-4.5 or to a local configuration on
your machine. I'll see if I can test with gcc-4.5.

Were you trying to compile HylaFAX from a clean state or was the directory
previously used for a previous version of HylaFAX and/or with a previous
version of gcc? (You can do `make distclean` before trying again if you're
unsure)

Can you attach the config.log file of a failed compilation?
