Summary: hylafax-config(5) taglineformat should instruct about
time variables formatting
Product: HylaFAX
Version: latest
Platform: PC
URL: https://www.hylafax.org/hylafax-handbook/advanced-
server-config/taglines/
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: minor
Priority: P5
Component: documentation
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
Recently had to send a fax and noted the top tag line displayed wrong
characters for date/time field. "TagLineFormat" is set to use the default value
"From %%n|%c|Page %%P of %%T". After digging a bit on the issue, I found two
issues:
1/ Variable "%c" efectively expands to "the preferred date and time
representation for the current locale" and can be confused with "destination
company name" when using double "%%" instead single "%". This should be
clarified.
2/ Also, it would be desiderable adding some information about time/date
formatting options so users can customize the output. Given that "strftime" is
mentioned, a single line instructing users about their possibilities should be
included.
