Apologies if this is an old question but the list archive search feature is not working (404 error) and it's not a FAQ either. I send faxes on very rare occasions and almost never receive so most of the time my modem is configured to have NCID (caller ID daemon) logging incoming calls and hanging up on nuisance calls. However, the same modem is the one I use for faxes when I do need to fax something. I tried setting up faxgetty but that ties up the modem and NCID can't use the modem for monitoring caller ID. I discovered that the simple "faxmodem" command to add the modem to the pool (after submitting a fax job to the queue) works even with NCID running. My questions are 1. is there a configuration for faxgetty that would share the modem (i.e. did I overlook something when I tried to configure it) and 2. if there isn't, is there a way to trigger the faxmodem command on receipt of a job so I don't have to log into the server and manually issue the command? Thanks! ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe [email protected] < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail [email protected].*
