Yes.  Mainpine does have an on-line fax service that supports HylaFAX 
clients.

However, most customers use the "proxy" feature in HylaFAX+ to use 
Mainpine's fax service as a type of virtual modem bank.  In that case 
they still run hfaxd and faxq on their side (as they always have).  
They've simply dropped their modems and their lines and moved the 
traffic to Mainpine, instead.

So, you can use it either way: directly with clients or through the 
"proxy" feature in HylaFAX+ (which basically has faxq acting as a client).
