Issue with latest version

I am on 6.0.6 of hylafax on centos 6.7
I have installed the RPM's from the website
I have ran faxsetup and faxaddmodem
The modem is at /dev/ttya00

When I run a faxstat command I do not get any information about the modem.
Just this line.

HylaFAX scheduler on localhost: Running

These are the processes running on the system when I do a ps -ef | grep fax
uucp     24052     1  0 15:32 ?        00:00:00 /usr/sbin/faxq
uucp     24056     1  0 15:32 ?        00:00:00 /usr/sbin/hfaxd -i hylafax

What are some further steps I can take to try and find why the modem does not appear to be showing up in the faxstat. If I try to send a fax, it just sits in the queue and never attempts to send.

The modem is connected through a digi real port serial server, and when I did faxaddmodem it successfully communicated to the modem to find a speed to talk to it with.
