Deleting Files from Hylafax's Archive folder.

We have been running Hylafax 6.0.5 since 2013.  We have a very large amount
of files in the Archive folder (var/spool/hylafax/archive).  Can I manually
delete files from this folder without any adverse effects on the Hylafax
system?
