Generally speaking, USR modems do not implement the FAX timing & signaling
requirements correctly.  This makes using them with Hylafax or Hylafax+
problematic.
I have had good luck with older Multi-tech and Zoom models, both Serial and
USB models.
Searching this forum will turn up specific models that people have had good
success with.
