550 Cannot set privileges

Hello everybody, 

I'm currently testing the Leap 15 packages, and suddenly (did not appear on 
the Leap 42.3 installation!) ran into the above error message:

After increasing the server trace the log shows the following:

Mai 09 11:20:54 southpole HylaFAX[4217]: USER max
Mai 09 11:20:54 southpole HylaFAX[4217]: <--- 550 Cannot set privileges.
Mai 09 11:20:59 southpole HylaFAX[4217]: command: quit
Mai 09 11:20:59 southpole HylaFAX[4217]: QUIT

Firewall is disabled, so this is not the issue. /var/spool/hylafax/etc/
hosts.hfaxd allows connections from localhost (and local network).

Any other idea what to test?
