USR Courier HST: COMREC invalid command received/no DIS or DTC

hi all,

does anyone know if and how I can get a USRobotics Courier HST Dual Standar=
d V.34+ Fax to send faxes with Hylafax?

This page seems to suggest it can be done (with class 1): http://www6.uniov=
i.es/hylafax/modems.html

So I specified class 1 with faxaddmodem but I always get the error "ERR [12=
5] COMREC invalid command received/no DIS or DTC" after dialing out.

I tried several speeds and flow control options - this does not seem to be =
the issue. I have confirmed the thing can dial out.

sending DCD is raised when carrier is first received, but it is then droppe=
d from the first HDLC receive until the point where the initial training is=
 sent (from that point on DCD is asserted); this can be a problem because t=
here is no way to override this behaviour which means that the host must be=
 capable of ignoring DCD for sending to function correctly". That seems to =
suggest it may not work at all but it's the same websites that suggest it c=
an work. I tried ModemSetupDCDCmd: AT&C0 to no avail.

Any ideas?
