  I think this is a fluke based on the specific recipient/sender. In both
cases the problem was caused by the fax sent to/from the local Sheriff's
office. The phone system does some special manipulation with the law
enforcement caller ID/fax ID to ensure it is blocked.

  I don't know for sure, but I suspect that is the root of why some incorrect
integer value got mixed into the caller-ID/fax-ID processing of those faxes.
Notify is working correctly this morning on other faxes sent with the
thumbnails correctly appearing in the Archive.

  I looked though the .php, but I'm not familiar enough with it to see where
or how a stray caller/fax ID would cause the problem. Maybe for 3.3.6 look
though how a worst-case scenario is handled that could result in something
like this.

  Put this on the back burner. If it is just due to special caller/fax ID in
use by law enforcement, then at least I know what to watch out for.
