I did some testing. The output in the dvi is completely correct now as 
far as @book is concerned. The only glitch are the warnings of BibTeX. 
With 0.1h, it warns that an editor is lacking if there is only an author 
or only an editor. It should only warn if there is neither author nor 
editor. New test files are attached which have all four sorts: only 
editors, only authors, both author and editor and neither author nor 
editor. It should warn only in the last case.
