Adapting from the oxford option : APY Volume Edition Series

Hi list,
I try to customise a bibliography to the house style of a canadian alma mater (bilingual french + english) for a law thesis.
The "inhouse style is not far from the oxford style but with differences I have to comply with.
My test setup works, mostly, with a bib file of about 50 entries. There are some glitches for "localisation", as follows.

The demands are long, but the example may be fruitfull to others, as I'll spread the word after I am done.
If somebody can help ?
I use jurabib v0.6 (2003/11/17) with oxford style, with babel french :
\usepackage[english,french]{babel}
...
\begin{document}
\selectlanguage{french}
\bibliographystyle{jurabib}

Note : those modifications are needed in both text and bibliography, but generally they dont seem to be reflected.

APY : ADDRESS-PUBLISHER-YEAR

The jox style does put some parenthesis around the a-p-y block
I did get rid of them in the text with the following renewal:
\renewcommand{\bibapyldelim}{,\space} %adress-publisher-year left of
\renewcommand{\bibapyrdelim}{} % adress-publisher-year right of

But, although it works in the text, it does not in the bibliography.  I need both and did not find why in the manual.

VOLUME :

For the entries with a volume field, in english I need a volume formated 'v.~' and a translation of the french abbrev. of the word 'tome', written as't.~'.
I tried the following :
\renewcommand{\Volumename}{v.~}
That works in the text only but it does add an extra space after the ~ of 'v.~' ie. 'v.~ '.
And if I define it as {v.} only, with no '~', it outputs 'v. 99', by example. I dont think the space before the number is insecable.
And in the bibliography, the word 'Volume' appears, even for the language= {french} entries.
Not finding the right keyword, by analogy I tried :
\Addto\bibsfrench{%
      \def\volumename}{t.~}
}
Latex complain it does not know that.

EDITION :

My bib file has some entries with the language field writen to 'french' and some to 'english'.
The compiled 'edition' field data is formated with the french word 'édition. ',
it is a dot and a space afted the dot for any entries, be there english or french.
I would like to 
1- get rid of the dot+space after the word 'édition' and get a simple comma separator ',\space' instead;  and would like to
2- get the word in the right language 'edition' versus 'édition', depending of the language of the entry, english or french.

For the delimiter '. ' after 'édition' I did not find a redefinable command, by analogy I tried :
\renewcommand{\editionsep}{,}
but that is not the right keyword.  I did looked into jurabib.sty to find it but the code is mostly not commented, so I cannot try more.  

By the way, if somebody has a list of those keywords and their meaning (same remark for jurabib specific fields often undocumented in the doc) ?
I understand the community to be too knowledgable of these (and with more urgent things to do).  You need a newbee to explain the basics of the fields in details.  The same problem of finding the right entry type for a given book is in the bibtex doc, they delve right away.
If somebody can spare the info I could organise a comment of it.

NUMBER :

After the year in a journal'article or periodic entry
I need to get (1999) 12 by dropping the : of (1999):12

SERIES AND NUMBER before APY instead of after.
The style of the alma mater requires series and number to be before the ADDRESS-PUBLISHER-YEAR block (both in the text and bibliography).

JURISPRUDENCE and LAWS
For those, is there an option to the 'misc' entry type, or a project to develop a generic entry for each of them ?
