Error with authorformat=indexed, used with [frenchb]babel

Hallo!

I'm using the option authorformat=indexed, and babel with [frenchb] 
option. This yields an error for second and third authors.
What happens is:

! LaTeX Error: Missing \begin{document}.

See the LaTeX manual or LaTeX Companion for explanation.
Type  H <return>  for immediate help.

l.15 ...imon96}{Descimon}{Robert}{R.}{}{};
                                            {Jouhaud}{Christian}{C.}{}{}
?

for the first entry with more than 1 author; after pressing return, no 
more error appear but those names are printed on the first page of the 
.dvi file.

HELP ! (could this happen because of French active characters?)

     \jurabibsetup{

     \bibliographystyle{jurabib}

Ceci est une citation bidon\footcite{descimon96}

\bibliography{BiblioEssai}

\end{document}
