Multiple author separator

I must have a blindness here...I've searched the documentation but I
don't see any way to change the author format (in both footcites and
the References) from the default "AuthorA/AuthorB/AuthorC" to the
format "AuthorA, AuthorB, and AuthorC" (or the et al format). Is this
possible?
