Dear David,
It's not clear to me why you use citefull=first if you want short citations of
the form Authorslastname Year, pages. In that case, you should better use the
natbib commands, which do just that: \citet[pages]{id} or in parentheses:
\citep[pages]{id}
As to the first problem: if you want short citations like the natbib commands
offer, and you are not content with the bibliography format, you should
consider using the natbib package or similar rather than jurabib, as there
might well be styles that provide what you want.
