jurabib and endnotes

I am using jurabib with the endnotes package. I have two problems.
First, I would like a period at the end of each endnote - the
dotafter=endnote option doesn't appear to do the trick.
Second, I want to cite a couple of papers in the same endnote with
references to particular pages. This, as far as I can tell, requires
my to use:
\endnote{See \cite{firstcite} and \cite{secondcite} for this and that}
which causes LaTex to complain about an extra }. A somewhat minimal
example is below. Any suggestions would be appreciated
