thit would be \useMPpath (a bit of deduction here)

for an old-timer like you, it also takes some adaptation to use \input 
{foo} instead of the non-character terminated \input foo i guess, in mp 
there's also this input that takes a non-string which makes input a bit 
of an outlier in both machineries

so here is some of the magick:

\starttext

\enabletrackers[resolvers.locating]

\input{tufte}

\enabletrackers[resolvers.*]

\environment does-not-exist

\disabletrackers[resolvers.locating]

\stoptext

See log file. All the magic is in the data-ini, data-res, data-pre etc 
files. Don't loose sleep over it.
