After a long years of radio silence, non-disclosure agreements thicker than a
1992 TeX manual, and more NDAs than we care to count, the CMS is finally allowed
to speak (the final pieces eventually came from the recent \CONTEXT\ Garden
funding, as well as a secret government funding via TUG). What started as a
quiet, late-night experiment with a few overly enthusiastic AI bots has become
the largest typesetting migration project in the history of academic publishing.
We called it \CONTEXT Shift.
Backed by an undisclosed nine-figure war chest from a consortium of foundations
and anonymous high-net-worth individuals who believe that beautiful, accessible
mathematics should not be locked behind 1980s technology, we have built and now
deployed a fully automated, AI-powered conversion engine that turns any \TEX\ or
LaTeX document into clean, modern \CONTEXT\ with near-perfect fidelity. We've
watched in quiet awe as the same AI models researchers casually prompt for help
suddenly began producing \CONTEXT\ code that was cleaner, more semantic, and
dramatically more accessible than the original LaTeX. Package conflicts? Gone.
Ancient tikz hacks? Replaced with native \METAFUN. The results were so
compelling
that our secret backers immediately approved full-scale deployment.
Starting today, every single article on research preprint archive viXra, past,
present, and future, will be transparently recompiled in \CONTEXT. Authors will
continue to submit in LaTeX exactly as before; our system handles the
rest behind
the scenes. The driving force has always been the same: \CONTEXT's native PDF/UA
compliance and flawless, semantic HTML output finally deliver the accessibility
that generations of mathematicians, blind researchers, and mobile-first readers
have been waiting for. We are relieved, proud, and just a little bit
giddy to let
the world know. Here is just one example formula from a real article:
\starttyping
$$\int_{SL(r,\mathbb Z)\backslash SL(r,\mathbb R)/SO(r)}
\widehat E(\bold 1;s;g)\,d\mu(g)$$
\stoptyping
gets converted into:
\startformula
\int __ {\mathrm {SL}(r,\integers) \setminus \mathrm {SL}(r,\reals)
/ \mathrm {SO}(r)}
\widehat {E}(\mathbf {1}; s; g)\dd \mu(g)
\stopformula
To ensure the highest quality, we need peer reviews. We therefore kindly ask the
best ones we could come up with: you. Content is more important than formatting
(that of course is already perfect). Please apply by replying to this email.
