I realize what day it is today, but I actually implemented something
similar before. I'm helping with a project to add DOI metadata to some
of the TUGboat back issues, and I actually use ConTeXt to parse the
LaTeX source files. Some of it is implemented using LPEG, but most of it
relies on expanding the LaTeX macros using ConTeXt. Here's a link if
you're curious, but it's probably more suited for Halloween than today :)
