Re: \nomarking no working??

Hi Jim,

You are not doing anything wrong. The example on the wiki appears to be 
obsolete (If you have a look through the mailing list archives, you’ll 
see that Aditya notes that this command is obsolete...).

|\nomarking{...}| belonged to an older interface. This was already 
discussed on the list in 2013, when Aditya explained that |\nomarking| 
and |\nolist| were no longer needed: the structured sectioning interface 
now lets us specify |title|, |marking|, |list|, and |bookmark| separately.

So the current equivalent would be something like:

\setupheadertexts[chapter]
\starttext
\startchapter
[title={This title is long enough to cause problems in the headers and 
footers},
marking={This title is long ...}]
Here the whole title is used in the document, while the shorter
`marking` is used for the header.
\stopchapter
\stoptext

The same issue actually came up again on the mailing list in March 2025, 
when |\nomarking| was found not to work with current ConTeXt.

So I think this is a documentation problem rather than a problem with 
your input. The |\nomarking| wiki page should probably be revised or 
marked as obsolete (mais qui va faire ce job ?).
