package.

Summary description: Manual music notation with TikZ

Announcement text:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The mousik package renders music scores with LaTeX. It is based on the TikZ
package, and the scores are treated as drawings. The package does not try to
understand the music. It provides the basic layout needed to render the score,
while allowing the user to customize it further. Short commands are provided for
notes, rests, slurs, accidentals, articulations, ornaments, etc., with the
option to adjust their position and shape directly. This makes it most useful
for short musical examples, for instance in textbooks, lecture notes, and
articles. There are several other ways to write music with LaTeX, but they
generally require additional programs, notation languages, or processing steps.
In comparison, mousik is meant to be as simple as possible, with straightforward
commands and the music written directly in the LaTeX source.
