Mmm, Sage Math is een soort open source Maple / Mathematica / MATLAB. Een monsterachtig pakket, dat bestaat uit een hele collectie open-source wiskunde-programma's. Blijkbaar bevat het tegenwoordig ook (onderdelen van) LaTeX.
Ik heb ooijt naar Sage Math gekeken voor symbolic math, maar ik vond het (veel) te groot voor mijn beperkte behoeften. Ik doe tegenwoordig wat dingen met SymPy, dat werkt heel aardig, maar een zekere basiskennis van Python en NumPy is nodig.

Een NTG lid stuurde me een LaTeX bestand dat bij hem problemen gaf en aanvankelijk dacht ik niet te kunnen helpen omdat ik momenteel geen LaTeX installatie op mijn laptop heb (wel ConTeXt) maar ik zag na wat zoeken op Google dat www.sharelatex.com online bewerking en compilatie van LaTeX documenten aanbiedt.
Het leek me onwaarschijnlijk dat zoiets ook echt zou werken, maar gek genoeg lukte het meteen. Er kwam een keurige PDF uit, wel met een foutmelding dat een \compactitem omgeving niet correct was afgesloten en nadat ik die had aangepast liep het verder helemaal prima. Ik kon het mede-NTG lid zodoende een oplossing bieden en de correcte PDF als illustratie ervan.
Zijn er hier gebruikers die meer ervaring hebben met dergelijke online diensten en zo ja, kan iemand daar iets over vertellen? Zijn sommige beter dan anderen, en voor zover er een bijdrage wordt gevraagd voor de dienstverlening, hoe verhoudt zich die tot wat er wordt geboden?
Ik hoor/lees graag wat de ervaringen zijn!
