Unfortunately, too many things change in a year. It is recommended to
reinstall from scratch. 

Another occasion to stress the fact that local additions to the
distribution should be put in $TEXMFLOCAL 
(c:\program files\texlive\texmf-local) so that you'll keep them when
upgrading.
