Protex is miktex. :-) I switched, a long time ago, from miktex to fptex=20
because config problems could be more easily solved by tweaking the=20
config files; more tetex like. I don't know the situation now as I've=20
not gone back to miktex since.

I read recently on the texlive list it's more inclined towards to=20
spitting out PDF.
