ich glaube, ich muss mich korrigieren. Ich hatte nicht genau genug gelesen.

Es könnte sein, dass qrcode.sty (Disclaimer: ich habe die Dokumentation
dazu nicht komplett gelesen) implizit davon ausgeht, dass der zu
kodierende Text bereits im ISO-8859-1-Format vorliegt. Das würde sich
bei Umlauten bemerkbar machen.
