It would be great if I could be proven wrong, but I don't think that
there is an easy way to achieve this in a general manner.
The problem is that slides are typeset inside a minipage environment.
Since a minipage does not have a specific size (unlike a page) none of
a \vfill will not make any difference.
So the best you can do is centering it by hand using \vspace.
It would probably be worth putting a feature request in for slides in
a fixed size.
