parsetree in overlay environment

Hi,

I'm trying to use trees generated with parsetree.sty on slides with overlays.

Here's an example:

\overlays{3}{
  \begin{slide}{Item step test}

    \begin{parsetree}
      ( .A. `X' )
    \end{parsetree}

    \begin{itemize}
    \onlySlide{1}{
    \item one}
    \fromSlide{2}{
    \item two}
    \fromSlide{3}{
    \item three}
    \end{itemize}

  \end{slide}
}

Without the overlays, the tree is dispalyed as

    A
    |
    X

Without it I get the same literal content of the parsetree environment:

    ( .A. `X' )

I tried to fix it by inserting \protect around all the commands of the
parsetree environ but to no avail.

Any hints?

Thanks,
Chris
