problems on debian sarge

I have a debian testing box and have returned to prosper after a 
while to prepare this sessions lectures.  Simply reformatting my old 
slides I get the following error:

Has anyone else seen or fixed this?

I don't get this problem on my debian stable box, but on there I get
missing colours on some of the PPR styles.
