Problem with the size of objects in slides

Hello all,

I'm quite new to Prosper, although I've used LaTex before. I have a
problem with a Prosper presentation which, I think, is because I'm
overlooking something obvious. I'm using MikTeX under WinXP. I have
tried creating my presentation with and without the "pdf" option.

The problem: The size of my figures (created in xfig and IgorPro and
exported as eps) are all much larger than their true size; also, the
widths of minipages and parboxes when directly specified as some number
of cm, inches, or pts, come out much larger than what I specify. I have
to scale down my figures with the scale=x option in \includegraphics
(graphicx.sty), and I have to give small sizes for my minipages and
parboxes. So, for example, if I want a minipage of width 7 cm, I would
have to specify something like 3 to 4 cm--a tedious exercise of
trial-and-error. \textwidth does seem to work ok, and specifying widths
in terms of this length seems to produce correct results.

I don't have this problem with other LaTeX documentclass' like article
and revtex4.

This problem does not stop me from using Proper, but it kills some of
the fun for sure. Please help.

Thanks,
Hasnain
