Incremental Highlighting with Prosper

Dear readers of this list,

I am looking for a way to highlight items in a list step by step. I think of 
the following effect: All items in the list are grey at the beginning, and 
moving through the list during the presentation the item discussed currently 
gets highlighted red. All other items are still visible in grey. Is there a 
macro or a clever construct for the PPR*.sty-file or for the document like 
IfHighlighted then colour red IfNormal then colour grey?
