texorpdfstring not working?

Dear readers of this list,

I try to use the macro \texorpdfstring from the hyperref-package with prosper, 
but it is not working for example in the following case:

\documentclass[pdf,colorBG,slideColor,default]{prosper}

\title{Title}

\author{Tobias Hilbricht}

\begin{document}

\begin{slide}{\texorpdfstring{\emph{Hello emphasis!}}{No emphasis!}}

Content of the slide

\end{slide}

\end{document}

How do I get the macro \texorpdfstring to work, or what else can I do to get 
proper bookmarks?
I am using prosper and hyperref from the TeX Collection 2003 (that is prosper 
v1.5), ghostscript v. 7.07, dvips 5.94a and Acrobat Reader 5.08.
