Hello,

Hendri, thanks for the suggestion. I have "fixed" the problem -- I don't
know why but it now works after I performed the following procedure -- since
there are other people having this problem too I thought I'd share this:

My system: I'm running miktex with winEdt under windows XP.

I went to miktex directory, reinstalled xcolor, pstricks and prosper, and
latexed all test files in these packages;
Did the same thing again with the prosper package and pstricks I downloaded
from the web (supposed to be the latest version)
Prosper-tour.tex gave a bunch of error messages, but after hitting a bunch
of returns in response to that, it produced a dvi file with no text; but
after dvi - ps and ps - pdf vonversion, I was able to view it in pdf file.
The set intersection slide didn't come out all right though, the
intersection won't show.

Anyways, after all this, I was able to write slides using prosper. The only
problem is the texts won't show in dvi, I have to convert it to pdf via ps
in order to see the slides, which is a nuisance since I have to close the
open pdf file in order to update it. -- By the way, does anyone know how to
fix this? Say, make the texts show in dvi, or, make pdf to update while the
file is open? thanks in advance.

Finally, prosper is terrific! So much easier to write math in slides now!!
Many thanks to the author,

Jing
