Hendri, thanks for your help, I made a minimal file as example:

As you can see, it is all coming from texlive 2004 and I still get the
pesky xcolor error which I cannot fix. This is the reason why I was
previously using an antiquated version of prosper.cls.

Is there anything I can do? I reallyneed to fix this as I teach from
prosper slides. Thanks.
